"Individually they are well-known and well-respected musicians; Kathryn for her dazzling and lyrical piano playing and Terry for his virtuoso-level finger-style guitar playing. This past year they joined forces to create a new musical entity, K.E.W.T., and released their début CD Mother Lode ... a baker’s dozen of acoustic, instrumental compositions that are pure joy to listen to." Kathryn Elizabeth, grew up with a piano in the house, and an innate curiosity around the mystery of how her mom could make beautiful sounds with the right combination of keys. It drew her to a lifelong love affair with the piano. She started lessons at the age of 7, benefited from the guidance of an eclectic group of teachers until she was 17, and has spent her life making music. Until she met Terry, her focus was on teaching and sharing her love of music with her students. Once they joined forces, she began to perform and promptly recorded an album of original compositions ("Small Awakenings") produced by Ian Tamblyn. Several years later she arranged and recorded a collection of Christmas music with Juno-winner, David Francey ("Carols for a Christmas Eve"). www.kathrynbriggs.com

William Terence (Terry) lays the blame on his guitar obsession directly on the shoulders of one Thomas Bolyn Smothers III (of The Smothers Brothers), whose records were gifted to Terry and his brother Tim at very early ages. From there it was David Rea, Red Shea, and Stephen Stills that further raised his interest. He began playing professionally upon graduating high school in June of 1974 after moving to Fredericton, New Brunswick. He has since been employed as a session musician and accompanist. He also has 6 solo albums to his credit as well as several appearances on compilation albums, most notably "Beautiful: A Tribute to Gordon Lightfoot". He and Kathryn began working together soon after marrying in 1998 and continue to collaborate and perform, much to his joy. Terry claims he never met a guitar he didn't want. www.terrytufts.com
